Established in 2005, the Friends of Fairy Dell have been dedicated to preserving and enhancing this beloved green space in Middlesbrough. Working in partnership with the council and other local groups, we've transformed Fairy Dell into a thriving loved green Gem at the heart of a suburban area..
Every Tuesday, our dedicated volunteers come together to tackle a variety of maintenance tasks. From litter picking and grass strimming to woodland management and path upkeep, your help is invaluable in keeping Fairy Dell looking its best.
Whether you're a retired professional with experience in gardening or simply passionate about nature, we welcome your expertise. Join our team and contribute to the ongoing care of Fairy Dell. We're also looking for individuals with event planning experience to help organize community events and activities.
..We can ensure that Fairy Dell remains a vibrant and sustainable space for generations to come.
Shhh. Dont tell everyone there is such a beautiful open green space right in the centre of the houses. Come and have a look
Maintaining the paths and steps around our part of Marton West Beck keeps the volunteers busy all year around. A stroll through the whole of Fairy Dell normally takes about an hour.
We have several wheelchair and pram users who navigate the park so we are confident most people will navigate the paths with ease. Please remember it is a country park!
Look out for the cascade and the disused boating lake from Gunnergate Hall. We even have a hidden ICE House, but we don't like to brag!
At times parts of the park or Dell may be roped off when heavy equipment is being used to clear the lake - Please follow the guidance on the posted signs
